RATIONALE

A weekend of emotions found me in the studio with paintbrush and palette knife in hand, processing feelings of deep love and sadness. When you’re in the mire of emotion, these moments, seem to hold such beauty in creation. The purity and magnitude of feelings and pushing paint to express the depths of one’s heart as you rise to the surface. Born this weekend, were the first three works in this series; ‘The Mire’, ‘Magnitude’ and ‘Turbulent Tumult’.

Beyond here, this dreamy palette has called for more creations including pieces, ‘Moorlands’ and ‘Elusive Springtime’, both representations of deep feelings and lightness evoked by this therapeutic practice.

‘Divine Current’ came to be by commissioned request channelling the elusive female form and flow. This piece calls the viewer to look closely for the hints of gold alluding to the divinity of the feminine energy and the energy this exudes – a divine current.
